MEANINGFUL CONVERSATIONS

Coaching. Conversations. Reflection.

Today I held a meaningful conversation about Junk Food with my 7.5-year-old. She explored different types of junk food and used the categorization of ‘what do you (my parents) allow me on a regular basis’ / ‘What do you occasionally allow me’ / and ‘what you don’t allow me’.
Under the category of “occasionally allowing me to have it” she also explored the “when” such as, amusement parks, airplanes, birthday parties, etc.
She also pointed out to junk food consumption cons, weighing different items one verses the other using sugar as the ingredient at scale: cotton candy vs. kinder; kinder vs. 70% dark chocolate; etc.
I assume she was holding and arranging a mental map of different scenarios and ingredients.
I challenge you ;) – Look at your day/week, explore different themes, arrange in buckets of importance, pick one topic, test it through different scenarios, consider your actions as you respond to them and the people that play a pivotal role in those situations. A quick “in the car” reflection/conversation is a great way to spend your time at the end of the day/week.
